Chip Actuator CA0408

The chip actuator CA0408 is a shape memory alloy actuator from memetis that is able to generate 8 N of force without any noise. It is designed for operating seat valves in disposable fluidic chips and cartridges, but can also be used as pin puller, for locking mechanisms, or similar. 

An M2 internal thread allows mounting of a customer-specific valve plunger or threaded rod.

The memetis chip valve actuator provides a full through-hole for a custom plunger with M2 external threading. 

A long plunger (> 20 mm) can be used to: 

  • Stabilize the vertical plunger alignment
  • Fine-tune the plunger length after mounting
  • monitor the plunger position using an external distance sensor (e.g. Laser, Hall-sensor, mechanical switch)

Features of the small version

The small electronic control unit ECU-S1 is developed for the control of memetis valves and actuators. It is lightweight and easy to use.

  • controls 1 memetis valve or chip actuator
  • can be powered from USB B Micro or external power supply
  • wide input voltage range of 4.5 V - 24 V
